Copy data between Dataverse environments

Move reference data or a full set of records from one environment to another, with the same IDs, so lookups still point to the right records.

Step by step

  1. Load the source model. Pick the tables to move.
  2. Export a migration package. A single JSON file with the definitions and the data.
  3. Preview the import. See what will be created or updated in the target.
  4. Import with IDs kept. Records keep their IDs, so running it again updates instead of duplicating.
  5. Re-link lookups. A second pass connects lookups once all records exist.

Why teams use MDPM for this

Common questions

Does it move solutions and customisations?

No. Use your normal solution process for those; MDPM moves the data.
